The Cecil Street Fish Market is usually busiest early in the morning, when the fish are brought in. Towards mid day, the market becomes rather deserted. However, next to the market is the Cecil Street Market Hawker Centre, one of the biggest hawker centres in inner George Town. The hawker centre is usually busy from morning until lunch, with many stalls operating until the evening.
