Cempedak Goreng (9 August 2008)


The Penang Cempedak Goreng are cempedak fritters deep-fried in flour batter. It is usually sold by the goreng pisang vendors.

The cempedak is a fruit of the same family as jackfruit and breadfruit. The flesh is bright yellow. The seed, which can be eaten, is cream white, with a later of dark brown skin. To make cempedak goreng, the cempedak is coated with a flour batter and deep fried.
