Hi! My name is Cheryl Lam and I am a chubby Penangite who is very passionate on food and a big lover of travelling. I was born with a huge appetite and never hesitate to travel the extra mile for great food (Diet? Meh. Life is good as it is!). I also enjoy all styles of traveling in every corner of the world and would never stopped traveling while I can. I was nicknamed Lam Lam by my friends, which in fact derived from Fat Lam (yep I was much chubbier back then, lol!) before I was given a new name when I became a little slimmer over the years. I think this nickname is kind of cute and it was stuck with me ever since. Hence it explains how I came up with my blog name cheryllamlam with the last L.A.M. stands for Life, Adventures, Memories, documenting all my interesting life events.

So how did I become a blogger? Well, with my passion on food and traveling, I always love to share all my gastronomic journey and exciting travel experiences with everyone. I understand the tedious work involved in travel planning and would like to make it simple for everyone with my travel tips and travel guides. Hence, in year 2012, I decided to set up a blog and started writing out of interest. Then it turned to something greater than I expected and now I am a full time blogger. I always imagine showing my website to my children or grandchildren in the future, telling them all my food and travel stories. A lot of people asked me why would I give up a potential career for full time blogging. My answer to them is Passion. Sitting at an office desk from 9-5 was not what I wanted. It didn't make me happy and I felt as if I was living someone else's dream. With my flexibility that I have now, I am able to devote my time to establish my dream - Cheryl Lam's Life. Adventures. Memories.

As much as it may seem amazing to be a full time blogger, nothing comes easy in this world. I have faced challenges along the way and was stroke with stress and obstacles from time to time. However, I strongly believe this is what I have to go through to learn life lessons, and when I am doing what I truly enjoy, my hard work and perseverance will pay off. I may not be there yet but I am closer than I was yesterday!
