CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La is the biggest and most exquisite spa in Penang. Located next to the Rasa Wing swimming pool, on the sprawling grounds of Rasa Sayang Resort, it is the "& Spa" in the resort's official name, "Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa." The spa derives its name from the Chinese philosophical concept of ch'i. It is open daily from 10:00am to 10:00pm, and appointments are encouraged.

Truly a palace of pampering, CHI comprises a cluster of villas connected by pathways in a lush, secluded setting. The main building is a tall, octagonal structure of timber and stone.

CHI offers a variety of Oriental treatments - Chinese as well as Malay - conducted in any of its spacious villas. These thatch villas nestle within private gardens which offer complete privacy and serenity. They are equipped with changing rooms, bathrooms and treatment rooms. Guests may opt to receive their treatments within the villas or at its outdoor pavilion, which are equiped with outdoor rain showers. There, guest may enjoy the murmurs of flowing water as their cares are massaged away.
