Julia Volchkova: Child Mural at Prangin Canal, Penang 6 April 2014)

The
Child at Prangin Canal Mural (GPS: 5.41156, 100.33407) is an engaging black-and-white mural by Russian artist Julia Volchkova. The Saint Petersburg-based artist specializes in mostly black-and-white murals. This is Volchkova's first mural in Penang. At time of writing (April 2014), she is planning another mural in George Town.
Julia Volchkova's Child Mural at Prangin Canal depicts a small boy who appears to be biting on the collor of his t-shirt. This is possibly based on a photograph, though it is not known where the photograph was shot.

A couple of months after Volchkova completed this mural, she was invited back to work on a second outdoor mural in George Town. Known as
The Indian Boatman, it graces the sidewall of a house at 75, Stewart Lane. The mural faces Klang Street, at the junction with Stewart Lane.
