Civic & Municipal Affairs Bureau, Macau (8 November, 2007)

The
Civic & Municipal Affairs Bureau is a historic building at the heart of
Macau. This building is managed by the Secretariat for Administration and Justice. In other words, it is the seat of government for the Special Administrative Region of Macau. The arrangement came about after the councils and assemblies of the municipalities of Macau was abolished on 1 January, 2002.
Macau today comprises two municipalities, namely the
Municipality of Macau, which covers the Macau Peninsula, and the
Municipality of the Islands, which covers the islands of
Taipa and
Coloane. The Municipality of Macau comprises the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima,
Parish of Saint Anthony,
Parish of Saint Lazarus,
Parish of the See and the
Parish of Saint Laurence. The Municipality of the Islands comprise the
Parish of Our Lady of Carmel,
Parish of Saint Francis Xavier and the
Cotai Landfill Zone.
