Lotus Flower in Full Bloom, Macau (10 November, 2007)
The Lotus Flower in Full Bloom is a monument in Lotus Square, Macau. It was a gift of the State Council of China to mark the return of Chinese rule in Macau in 1999. The monument is made of gilded bronze. It is 6 meters tall and weighs 6.5 tons. It depicts the lotus flower in full bloom.
The Lotus Flower in Full Bloom symbolizes everlasting peace in Macau. It stands on a three-layer podium made of red granite. The three layers symbolizes the three parts of Macau Special Administrative Region, namely Macau Peninsula, Taipa Island and Coloane Island.
Getting there
Lotus Square is bordered by Avenida de Amizade, Avenida de Marciano Baptista and Rua de Luis Gonzaga Gomez on the other side. Bus 1A, 3, 3A, 10,10A, 10B, 12, 23, 28A, 28B, 28BX, 28C and 32 passw through Rua de Luis Gonzaga Gomez.
