Mount Sanqingshan National Park is a site of exceptional scenic beauty. It covers an area of 22,950 hectares in the western side of the Huyaiyu Mountain Range, in Jiangxi Province, China. The Mount Sanqingshan National Park is famous for its fantastic granite pillars and peaks. So far, 48 granite peaks and 89 granite pillars have been documented. Some of these rock formations resemble human and animal shapes.
Within the Mount Sanqingshan National Park is the 1,817-meter Mount Huaiyu, a mountain of much natural beauty, which is enhanced by the vegetataion on its granite features as well as the ever-changing weather conditions that often create bright halos and white rainbows.
Due to its outstanding scenic beauty, Mount Sanqingshan National Park was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 32nd session of the World Heritage Committee which met in Quebec City, Canada, on 2-10 July, 2008.
