Song Jiang is a charming little town on the railway route between Shanghai and Hangzhou. It has a number of sights which are worth visiting.
Among the places of interest in Song Jiang is its square pagoda, which dates back to the Song Dynasty. Near to it is a 4-meter (13-feet) high and 6-meter (20-feet) long Ming screen wall. The wall is decorated with carvings of mystical beasts.
To the west of Song Jiang is an old mosque that dates to the Yuan dynasty. It is believed to be one of the oldest Muslim place of worship in China, and is still being used today as a mosque.
How to reach Song Jiang
Song Jiang is 40 km (25 miles) to the southwest of Shanghai. You can take a bus there from the Xi Qu bus station in Shanghai.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
