Long Lake (Simplified Chinese: 长海; Traditional Chinese: 長海; Pinyin: Zhǎng hǎi) is a beautiful highland lake located at 3,102 m above sea level in the Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve. The S-shaped Long Lake covers an area of 930,000 sq meters, making it the largest lake in Jiuzhaigou. It is 4390 meters long, and has an average width of 200 meters and reaches a depth of 80 meters. To me, Long Lake is the most scenic and majestic lake in Jiuzhaigou.
Long Lake is located at the furthest end of the road up Zechawa Gully. There is a viewing platform that allows visitors to get a good look of the lake from an elevated position. Steps also lead down to the lake side. One is not allowed to touch the water of the lake, however.
Throngs of visitors crowd the banks of Long Lake from the viewing platform, especially during the peak season of October, making it tough for many to get a good view of the lake.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
