The South China Karst region is an area that extends across an area of close to half a million square kilometers in the provinces of Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi in China. They represent one of the most spectacular karst landscapes in the world, comprising the humid tropical to the subtropical terrain. Within this region of karst landscape includes the Shilin stone forest. Also included are the Libo Karst and Wulong Karst. Together, the South China Karst region is regarded as unrivalled in terms of diversity of its karst features and landscapes.

The South China Karst region was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 31st session of the World Heritage Committee in Christchurch, New Zealand, from 23 June to 2 July, 2007. The inscribed core zone covers an area of 47,588 hectares, with a buffer zone of 98,428 hectares.
