"Coastal Runners" Sculpture (12 March 2013)


"Coastal Runners" is a sculpture installed beside the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway in Gelugor, Penang. It is located near the base of the pedestrian bridge. The sculpture depicts a male and a female runner.

The "Coastal Runners" Sculpture was placed by IJM Corporation Berhad to enhance the beauty of the stretch of coast, and also to promote healthy lifestyle, excellent sportsmanship and sports tourism. IJM is the developer of the adjacent Light Waterfront. The "Coastal Runners" was unveiled on 18 November 2009 by the Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng, in conjunction with the Penang Bridge International Marathon.

Getting there

There is a bus stop on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway within a short walking distance from the sculpture. It is served by Rapid Penang bus 307 and 401E.
