Review visit to Crepe Cottage

8 October 2020
My wife and I were delighted to receive an invitation to visit Crepe Cottage. We were invited by its present owner, Benjamin, who is the nephew of the lady who founded it. The lady has since retired from the heavy duty, and is now busy enjoying life.

It's been a very long time since I last visited Crepe Cottage (the business celebrated its 21st anniversary last month, in Sept 2020). I noticed it has changed a lot - for the better! In the past, we sat outdoors, where we were bitten silly by mosquitoes, despite having to endure the smell from the mosquito coils. Nowadays, guests sit indoors, and on the way in, we admire Crepe Cottage's beautifully tended garden.

I couldn't help adoring Crepe Cottage's teddy bear motif. There's teddy bear everywhere, in pictures, posters, you name it. I did not recall teddy bear in my previous visit so long ago, but I am glad to see that the owner has made this place so pretty.

For starters, we had Garlic Cheese Bread. It was so good - crispy and aromatic, and a good way to prepare our stomachs for more. For the main course, Benjamin served us Herbed Butter Rib Eye and Pan Seared Seabass with Lemon Herb Sauce. Both items come with sautéed vegetables and crepe (of course, there would be crepe!) We enjoyed both items very much.

As for beverages, I had Strawberry Mango Milkshake while my wife opted for Strawberry Banana Milkshake. We finished off the meal with a Mango Cup, a totally precious dessert where the crepe is formed into a cup into which are diced mangoes, and topped with mango ice cream and cream. Oh, so delicious!

We barely scratched the surface, as far as Crepe Cottage's menu goes. I look forward to returning in future, to try out their other items.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
