The Department of Chemistry, or Jabatan Kimia Malaysia Cawangan Pulau Pinang, is a government department under the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI). Its Penang branch is located at Tull Road, next to the Penang Hospital, at the junction with Hogan Road. It occupies a 4-storey building that was completed in 2011. The department provides scientific services and conducts proficiency testing, a prerequisite to quality assurance for chemical-testing laboratories.

The Penang branch of the Department of Chemistry is housed in a four-storey standalone building along Tull Road, across from the Penang General Hospital. It has a number of divisions including forensic, criminalistic, narcotics, and others.
