East Indies Mansion (GPS: 5.417001, 100.340646) is a boutique hotel along
China Street in
George Town, Penang. It is at
25 China Street, a double-storey Southern Chinese courtyard mansion. The building is purportedly the oldest extant structure along China Street, and is said to have been one of the properties belonging to Koh Lay Huan, the first Kapitan China of Penang, who arrived to meet Captain Francis Light the very next day after Light came to shore on Penang Island.
East Indies Mansion has since been converted to provide luxurious accommodation to visitors. There are seven rooms spread across this mansion.

Getting there
If you are coming from the Weld Quay Ferry & Bus Terminal, across Weld Quay and continue up China Street Ghaut (Gat Lebuh China). After the intersection with Beach Street (Lebuh Pantai), continue on China Street (Lebuh China) until you see East Indies Mansion on your left.
