Eastin Hotel CNY 2017 Food Review
My wife and I joined a large group of bloggers to a review of Eastin Hotel's Chinese New Year buffet. The hotel has put together a carefully selected combination of dishes to give bloggers the chance to appreciate what is to be offered during the Chinese New Year season.
We started the food review session when Eastin Hotel General Manager Mr Justin Chew invited a group of us to join them in tossing the Yee Sang. The restaurant team at Eastin Hotel has brilliantly created a rooster mural of the Yee Sang. This must be a hermaphrodite rooster, for it has laid two golden eggs! I felt it a pity to demolish the Yee Sang picture. But toss it we did, with wishes of good business and great prosperity for Eastin Hotel Penang.
The buffet was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the scallops, the Yee Foo Mee and the slipper lobsters. I was supposed to be on diet, but who cares, dieting can wait! The pastries were out of this world too. Of all the different cakes, I liked the one that has peanut butter in it - I didn't manage to get its name though.
All in all, it was good food and great company. This is the first time ever that Eastin Hotel Penang has invited me to their food review. I do look forward to attending future ones and writing about them.
Thumbs up from Mr Justin Chew, General Manager of Eastin Hotel Penang (left), with me. (13 January 2017)

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
