Elceetee Building, Beach Street

Elceetee Building, Beach StreetElceetee Building, Beach Street (2 November 2008)

Elceetee Building is a building along Beach Street, George Town that is no longer extant.

Located at 33C Beach Street, it was built in the modern style. The property belonged to descendants of early 20th century tycoon Phuah Hin Leong, whose son Lim Cheng Teik is a prominent pillar of local society in his own right. Elceetee Building drew its name from Lim Cheng Teik's initials, L.C.T. The same rendition of the initial is often used for other developments on Lim Cheng Teik properties.

The Elceetee Building was demolished in 2009 to make way for The Rice Miller development, a major urban redevelopment project that spans from Beach Street to Weld Quay.
