Mozarteum is a concert hall in Salzburg, Austria, maintained by the International Foundation of Mozarteum. It is located on the right bank of the Salzach river across from the Old Town. The foundation was established in 1870, but traces its origin to 1841, when Mozart's widow Constanze Weber Mozart was instrumental in founding the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg for the refinement of musical taste with regards to sacred music as well as concerts. The concerts of this orchestra was the central part of Salzburg's music for much of the 19th century. In 1908, it was given the name Mozarteum Orchestra.
The Mozarteum concert hall is located on Schwarzstraße. It was built in 1910-14. The architect was Richard Berndl from Munich. Today it is one of the most important music schools in Europe. It is also a sort of musem to Mozart, housing a collection of his letters. In the grounds of the Mozarteum is the cottage in which Mozart wrote the opera The Magic Flute. Some parts of the Mozarteum has recently been renovated, with works expected to be completed in 2010.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
