Ceský Krumlov is a historical town in the Czech Republic. It is located in the South Bohemian region, and is best known for its fine architecture, especially of its historic centre. Ceský Krumlov is an outstanding example of a medieval European town, where the architecture has been well preserved to flourish and evolve over the past five centuries. Of particular interest is the castle, which is the second largest in the Czech Republic.

Ceský Krumlov was founded in the late 13th century. It was on an important trade route in Bohemia. The town and its castle belonged to the House of Rosenberg until 1602, when Emperor Rudolf II bought it, and gave it to his natural son Julis d'Austria. The town and its castle passed through the hands of several ruling houses. The structures in the old town exhibit mostly the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
