Sights & Attractions in Tampere
- Amuri Museum of Workers Housing (Amurin työläismuseokortteli)
Museum occupying former living quarters of workers in the 19th century. It provides a glimpse into how workers used to live during that period.
- Finnish Labor Museum Werstas (Työväenmuseo Werstas)
Museum focusing on labor in Finland.
- Lenin Museum (Lenin-museo)
A rather off-beat museum celebrating all things related to Lenin in Tampere. The Soviet leader spent some time in exile in Tampere, and this provided fodder for the displays. Among the items exhibited include the sofa where he slept on. And as would be expected, there's a forest of Lenin busts from all over.
- Mineral Museum (Tampereen kivimuseo)
Museum providing information on minerals and gems. It also exhibits meteorites and even dinosaur eggs.
- Moomin Museum
Also called Moominvalley, this is a museum that celebrates the cartoon characters of Finnish author Tove Jansson.
- Spy Museum (Vakoilumuseo)
Said to be the first spy museum in the world, this specialty museum focuses on the subject of espionage. It exhibits items such as spy cameras and secret weapons, all very James Bond-ish.
