Dreux is a town in the district of Eure-et-Loir, in the region of Centre, France. It covers 24.27 sq km (9.37 sq mi) and has a population of 31,000 people (2012 estimate).
The history of Dreux goes back to the Celtic period, when it was known as Durocassium. Later on, the Romans established a fortied encampment in the area, calling it Castrum Drocas. The town was the site of the final major battle of the French Wars of Religion in 1562.

From Paris, take the N12 highway heading west till you reach Dreux.
