Square Jean XXIII is a garden on the east end of the Île de la Cité in Paris, France. It is reached from the Notre Dame Cathedral. The garden was dedicated to Pope John XXIII. From here, visitors get a good view of the cathedral and the river. There are benches here for people to sit and relax.
Square Jean XXIII used to be occupied by the archbishop's palace. It was built in the 17th century but was demolished after it was ransacked by rioters in 1831.
Today Square Jean XXIII is filled with tourists during the day. You can see people relaxing or taking photos of the Notre Dame Cathedral.
