Riquewihr is a quaint French village in Haut-Rhin, Alsace, in northeastern France. It is one of the most charming villages in the wine-growing region of Alsace, and is a member of
Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of France). The village covers 17.04 sq km (6.58 sq mi) and has a population of around 1,300 people (2011 estimate).
Riquewihr has vineyards reaching right up to its ramparts. The old houses of the village have been well preserved and visitors strolling through its cobbled streets can enjoy views of its timber-framed houses with geranium-laden balconies, village water fountain, gates and watchtowers.

Riquewihr is just about 7 miles from Colmar. Among its most attractive sights is the Dolder Tower, which was replicated at Colmar Tropicale, a cultural resort in Malaysia.
Riquewhir managed to escape severe damage during the Second World War. Its medieval fortifications and castle are still very much intact, and are today a museum of local history.
