Bad Zwischenahn is a town on the bank of the Zwischenahner Meer, in Lower Saxony, Germany. The town is in the district of Ammerland, about 15 km to the northwest of Oldenburg and 70 km south of the North Sea coast.
Bad Zwischenahn gained notoriety as the airbase of the Luftwaffe during the Second World War. As a result, it was severely devastated by Allied bombing. The town has been entirely rebuilt and is today a popular domestic tourist destination.
Perhaps the most popular attraction is the farm museum which exhibits a windmill as well as period farm houses of the 19th century. Smoked eels are a local delicacy here.
Visiting Bad Zwischenahn
From Oldenburg take Autobahn 28 heading northwest till interchange with the L815. Continue west on the L815 to reach Bad Zwischenahn.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
