Lützen is a small town in the district of Burgenlandkreis, in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It covers 108 sq km (42 sq mi) and has a population of 9,300 people (2012 estimate).
The history of Lützen goes back to the Medieval period. It was the site of the Battle of Lützen of 1632, during the Thirty Years' War and the Battle of Lützen of 1813 during the Napoleonic Wars.

Lützen is located 18 km to the southwest of Leipzig. It is connected directly to Leipzig by Highway 87.
