Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin is a World Heritage inscription covering 150 heritage buildings built between 1730 and 1916, and 500 hectares of parks, located in the two aforementioned cities in Germany. The ensemble, including the parks and palaces along the banks of the River Havel and Lake Glienicke, represents a unique example of landscape design for the rulers of the Prussian state.
Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 14th session of the World Heritage Committee in Banff, Alberta, Canada, on 7-12 December, 1990.
In 1992 and 1999, the inscription was extended to include additional sites, two in 1992 and fourteen in 1999.
