Gibraltar is a territory of the United Kingdom in Continental Europe. It has a number of tourist attractions, the most famous being the Rock of Gibraltar. Other sights and places of interest in Gibraltar includes Gorhams Cave, Moorish Castle and the Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned. In this Gibraltar, let me take you to explore all these sights.

It is located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula overlooking the Straits of Gibraltar. Gibraltar covers an area of just 6.843 square kilometers (2.642 square miles), and is a strategic location for British Armed Forces and Royal Navy bases.

Gibraltar was ceded by Spain to the Crown of Great Britain under the 1713 Treaty of Utrecht, but since then Spain has sought for its return. The residents of Gibraltar however strongly opposed any move to return the territory to Spain, or for any form of shared sovereignty. As a result, Gibraltar remains a British territory, a position that often complicate relations between Spain and the United Kingdom.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
