The
East Macedonia & Thrace Periphery (Ανατολική Μακεδονία και Θράκη) is one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece. It is on the easternmost part of mainland Greece, comprising the eastern part of Greek Macedonia and the region of Thrace.
The periphery of East Macedonia and Thrace covers 14,157 sq km (5,466 sq mi) and has a population of around 630,000 (2011 estimate). It is divided into five prefectures namely Drama nand Kavala prefectures in Greek Macedonia and Xanthi, Rhodope and Evros prefectures in Thrace.
