The Early Christian Necropolis of Pécs are decorated tombs from the 4th century city of Sopianae, in present-day Pécs, the fifth largest city in Hungary. The tombs are subterranean chambers with their walls adorned with murals. The tombs are outstanding in their architecture and structure, and also for the exquisite quality of their Christian themes.
Early Christian Necropolis of Pécs was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 24th session of the World Heritage Committee in Cairns, Australia, on 27 November - 2 December, 2000.
