Alba is a town in the province of Cuneo, in
Piedmont, Italy. It covers 54 sq km (21 sq mi) and has a population of 31,000 people (2012 estimate).
Alba is renowned within Italy for its white truffle. It is also a popular town for wines and peaches. The town traces its history back to the pre-Roman period, when the site was inhabited by Celtic and Ligurian tribes.
Today Alba has some 290 wineries in town. The surrounding area has some 700 hectares of vineyards. The town itself has a charming medieval feel, with cathedral towers forming the local landmarks.

The A33 is the main motorway through Alba. The nearest major city is
Turin.
