Arco is a town in the province of Trentino in northeast
Italy. It covers 63 sq km (24 sq mi) and has a population of 16,500 people (2012 estimate).
The town of Arco is characterized by the limestone cliffs that form one side of the town. It has a number of sights dating to the 15th and 16th centuries. As with many of the rural towns of Italy, Arco today depends on tourism as the mainstay of its local economy. It receives mostly Austrian, German and Swiss visitors. The town is a popular destination for windsurfing on Lake Garda.
