Arezzo is a city in the region of
Tuscany in
Italy. It is also the provincial capital of the eponymous province. It covers 386.25 sq km (149.13 sq mi) and has a population of 52,000 people (2012 estimate).
Arezzo was established by the Etruscans, probably in the 5th century BC. It was conquered by the Romans in 311 BC. It was elevated to an episcopal seat in the 4th century AD, and has an uninterrupted succession of bishops to this day.
