Bardonecchia is a town in the province of
Turin, in the region of
Piedmont, in northwestern
Italy. Located on the western part of Susa Valley, it is connected to
France by the Fréjus Road Tunnel and the Fréjus Rail Tunnel. Bardonecchia covers 132.1 sq km (51.0 sq mi) and has a population of over 3,000 people (2012 estimate).
Running through Bardonecchia is the stream of the same name. It flows into the Dora Riparia. The old section of Bardonecchia is slightly elevated, and is above the new town, which was developed around its railway station.
