Baveno is a small town in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in the region of Piedmont, in northern Italy. Located 205 m (673 ft) above sea level, it covers 17 sq km (7 sq mi) and has a population of 4,500 people (2012 estimate).
Baveno is located on the western shore of Lago Maggiore. The city is famous for producing red granite which has been used in many famous buildings in Italy, including the Cathedral of Milan, the Church of San Paolo fuori le Mura in Rome and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan.
