Aveiro District is a district in the central coastal region of Portugal. It covers 2,808 sq km and has a popultion of about 720,000 (2011 estimate). Aveiro District is bordered by Porto District to the north, Viseu District to the east, and Coimbra District to the south. It faces the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The district is split into two regions namely Norte Region and Centro Region and is divided into 19 municipalities.
