Braga District is a district on the northern part of Portugal. The district covers 2,673 sq km and has a population of around 830,000 (2011 estimate). It is bordered by Viana do Castelo District to the north, a small section of Spain to the northeast, Vila Real District to the east, and Porto District to the south. The Atlantic Ocean is on the western coast of the district. Braga District comprises 14 municipalities.
