Leiria District, Portugal

Leiria District is a district along the coast in central Portugal. It is bordered by Coimbra District to the north, Castelo Branco District to the east, Santarem District to the southeast and Lisbon District to the south. It faces the Atlantic Ocean to the west.

Leiria District is 3,515 sq km and has a population of 460,000. The district capital and largest city is Leiria. The district is composed of 16 municipalities and 148 civil parishes.
