Viana do Castelo District is a district in the Norte Region, in the northernmost part of Portugal. The district is bordered by Spain in the north and east, and by Braga District in the south. It covers 2,255 sq km and has a population of 255,000 (2011 estimate). Viana do Castelo District is composed of 10 municipalities and 290 civil parishes.
