Viseu District is a district in the north-central part of Portugal. The landlocked district is bordered by Vila Real District to the north, Porto District to the northwest, Aveiro District to the west, Coimbra District to the south, Guarda District to the east and Bragança District to the northeast. Viseu District covers 5,007 sq km and has a population of about 400,000 (2011 estimate). It is composed of 24 municipalities and 372 civil parishes.
