Altea is a town in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community, Spain. Located on the Costa Blanca, it covers 34.43 sq km (13.29 sq mi) and has a population of 24,000 people (2012 estimate).
Altea is today a popular tourist destination. The old town has many cobblestone alleys that wind their way pass charming sights and attractions. Altea was founded at the mouth of the Algar river.

The nearest airport is at Alicante. From there you can take a bus. If driving, take the AP-7 motorway that follows the coast heading northeast.
