Basque Country is an autonomous community of Spain, located on the northern part of the country. It covers 7,234 sq km (2,793 sq mi) and has a population of 2.2 million people (2012 estimate).

The Basque Country comprises the provinces of Álava, Biscay and Gipuzkoa. The autonomous community shares a border with Cantabria to the west, Navarre and France to the east, and La Rioja to the south. The highest peak here is in the Aizkorri massif, reaching 1551 m in height.

You can fly to Loiu Airport in Bilbao. It receives flights by low-cost carrier Easyjet from London and by Vueling from Barcelona and Malaga.
