Calella is a seaside town in the province of Maresme, in
Catalonia, Spain. It is one of the towns along the Costa del Maresme. Calella covers 8 sq km (3.09 sq mi) and has a population of 18,000 people (2012 estimate).
There is nothing much in terms of cultural attractions in Calella. The town is more popular for its beach than anything else. It does have a lighthouse built in 1859 on the southwestern part of town. Its beach holds a Blue Flag, the top level by European standard. It is about 2 km in length and is the major draw.
