Huelva is a city in the autonomous region of Andalusia in southern Spain. It covers 149 sq km (58 sq mi) and has a population of 150,000 people (2012 estimate).
Huelva is located on the coast of the Gulf of Cadiz, where the river Odiel meets the river Tinto. The city is not far from the border with Portugal. Its history may have dated back to the time of the Phoenicians. At that time, it was known as Onoba. The settlement was later ruled by the Romans, and even today, you can find Roman ruins in the city.
Huelva has the oldest football club in Spain. The Recreativo del Huelva was founded in 1889 by workers of the British mining company, Rio Tinto Group. The city has a port divided into two areas, the Inner Port and the Outer Port. The Outer Port, with six wharves, is the main port of Huelva.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
