Lenk im Simmental is a village in the Obersimmental-Saanen district, in Bern canton, Switzerland. It is also known simply as Lenk. Covering 123.1 sq km (47.5 sq mi), Lenk has a population of 2,400 people (2011 estimate). It is situated 1,068 m (3,504 ft) above sea level.
Lenk is the highest village in the Simmental Valley. Most of its inhabitants are farmers. As with many of the villages in Switzerland, Lenk has turned to tourism as a means of earning outside revenue. The place is geared specially for winter sports. Despite its small size, Lenk has 800 hotel rooms and can take up to 5,000 guest - vastly outnumbering its own population.
The source of the River Simme is somewhere near Lenk. It flows from a number of creeks that merge to form the Simme. Also within Lenk is the spectacular Siebenbrunnen.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
