Wengen is a small car-free village in the Bernese Oberland, in Bern canton, Switzerland. The village covers 36.4 sq km (14.1 sq mi) and has a population of 1,300 people (2011 estimate).
Wengen is located midway between Lauterbrunnen and Jungfraujoch, and comprises a cluster of chalets and hotels perched on the mountain slope, with pastures spreading out around it. It is a place where time moves slowly, and without vehicle traffic, visitors are expected to slowdown and take it easy.
Due to its pristine surroundings, Wengen has become an increasingly popular tourist destination. In summer there are hiking trails to cover while in winter, visitors can go skiing and snowboarding. The views in Wengen is spectacular, with Grindelwald on one side and the Lauterbrunnen spread out on the other.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
