Broadway is a charming village in
Worcestershire, England. It is often called the "Jewel of the Cotswolds" for its picturesque street scenes, with its many honey-coloured Cotswold limestone houses.
Broadway developed as a stagecoach stop on the road between Worcester and London. Human habitation in this area goes back to the Stone Age. Members of the Worcestershire Young Archaeologists Club have uncovered Mesolithic flints as well as domestic waste from the Roman and medieval periods.
Due to its importance as a stopover point on the main street, the village was named after the street. Today the village has a concentration of antique shops. It attracts a steady stream of domestic tourists with its dainty shops, pubs and bed-and-breakfast lodges.
