Callington is a small town on the eastern part of Cornwall, England. Situated between Dartmoor to the east and Bodmin Moor to the west, the town has a population of around 5,000 people (2012 estimate). Today it is a quiet country town.

Callington is one of the sites believed to be the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Cornwall, which appeared in the Early Middle Ages, from the 8th to the 11th centuries. The town was of modest significance until the 18th century, when silver ore was discovered in the area, providing the town with a burst of activity.

Today there are no active mines in Callington, though the town still bear traces of past mining activities, and granite is still being quarried at nearby Hingston Down.
