Fowey is a town at the mouth of River Fowey in southern Cornwall, England. It faces the South Copast, and is part of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town has a population of just around 2,500 people (2012 estimate).

Based on records in the Domesday Book of 1086, the area was already inhabited by that time. Fowey developed as a coastal town and harbor. The locals often hire out their boats in support of the king during various wars. As with many small towns along the Cornish coast, Fowey also developed a reputation for piracy and smuggling.

While fishing has been the mainstay of the local economy, it was also a trading port until the 17th century, when its position was eclipsed by that of Plymouth.

Today Fowey stands as a quiet tourist town, with a number of attractions in its vicinity. Half of the people in town hold jobs related to the tourism industry.
