Kidlington is a village in Cherwell district, in
Oxfordshire, England. It is located between the River Cherwell and the Oxford Canal, about 12 km (7.5 mi) to the southwest of Bicester. Kidlington has a population approaching 15,000 people (2012 estimate). With its status as village rather than town, it is one of the most populous village in England as well as Europe.
Kidlington is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appeared as Chedelintone. The spelling evolved to Kedelington in the 13th century before arriving at its present form. The Church of St Mary the Virgin was built in 1220 and is today a Grade I listed heritage building.
Visiting Kidlington
Take the M40 motorway to Junction 9, then continue southwest on the A34 road to the Woodstock Road interchange. Take a 9 o'clock turn at the roundabout to the Frieze Way roundabout, then head east on Frieze Way (A4260) to reach Kidlington.
