Leominster is a market town in the northern part of Herefordshire, England. It has a population of around 11,000 people (2012 estimate). It is the largest of the five towns surrounding the city of Hereford, which is 19 km (12 mi) to the south. Leominster is situated at the confluence of the River Lugg and the River Kenwater.
The history of Leominster goes back to the Anglo-Saxon period. In 1052, a battle erupted between the Welsh and the combined forces of the Normans and the English Saxons. The Reading Abbey founded a priory at Leominster in 1121. It was ransacked by the Welsh in 1402 and was destroyed. Archaeologists managed to rediscover remains of the priory in 2005.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
